Introducing Blue Shield of CA Dynamic Duo: Dr. Jim and Bob

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of © Blue Shield of California for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.
Hey there.  What ails you?  Nothing?  Something inside me tells me that's a lie.  lol  But I'm sure that you are just like myself and many other people that are computer savvy, we'll look up our symptoms online and make a determination as to whether or not we'll make a doctor's visit.  More often than not, the doctor's visit never materializes.  I'll admit, if it doesn't hurt, I don't make that appointment.  I know... I know... It's a bad habit and just because my body doesn't hurt doesn't mean that there isn't something wrong.  I can pose my problem online and hope for the best, but really, that's not the absolute best thing to do.  That is, unless, Dr. Jim and Bob answer my question!

Jessica Nigri - The Queen of Cosplay

The best of Jessica Nigri!
Photo taken from Jessica Nigri Fan Page
Hey there.  Cosplay is a tricky thing.  With so many fans wanting to display their love of their favorite characters, it's no surprise that sometimes you come across a cosplay outfit that simply doesn't work.  Either because the costume was quickly or poorly made.  I'm not saying not to do it, though.  If it's what you love to do, by all means do it.  Display your love however you see fit!  But when cosplay is done right, man can it be breath taking.  That's why I believe that Jessica Nigri is the queen of cosplay!  Just take a look at collage of characters that she has displayed.  The only thing that's missing is my all time favorite female character, Harley Quinn!

Get a Life Podcast Coming Soon to Metallman's Reverie

Hey there.  It's time.  I'm ready to make an announce.  Trumpets please!  Brrrrr brrr BRRRRRRRRR!  We are starting a PODCAST!  Whoo hoo!  And the name of said podcast???  Get a Life!  lmao!  Who's excited?  I'm excited!  I say we because I will not be alone in this new project.  I've been thinking of changing things up here, at Metallman's Reverie, at first thought that maybe some video posts would be a welcomed change.  After doing my guest spot on the DragonCast on, I decided that I wanted to start a podcast.  One day, while chatting it up with one of the cohosts of the DragonCast, Brian, we thought it would be a great idea to start a podcast where a couple of guys sit around and discuss video games.  Now... this is not going to be a straight forward, information only, type podcast.  There will be no scripts involved and the converstations to be had in regards to games, their impacts on our lives and the impact that they have on the gaming community, will completely be had on the fly.  In other words, this podcast will be about a group of friends, with different personalities, just chatting away and throwing their 2 cents on what's going on in their world of gaming.  The only thing that will be missing is the couch and few beers.  lol  What's not to like?

Wanderer Thoughts Vol. 1 Poetry Book Review

Hey there.  Do you know why poetry is so awesome?  I'm certain that the question may be answered with many different responses.  And that, my friends, is the reason why poetry is so awesome.  Poetry is art as words.  The same way a painting can have different meanings to different people, a poem can convey that same effect.  Words can be a powerful medium.  The author can use a set of words to not only create a meaningful composition but use those words in such a way that the meaning can be whatever you interpret it to be.  That's pretty awesome, if you ask me.  But what if the author is restricted by certain words?  Can you imagine an artist creating a beautiful visual using only a set amount of colors?  Justin Germino, the author of Wanderer Thoughts Vol. 1 did the equivalent of that.

Justin collects words given to him by his Twitter followers to create poetry.  Twitter users provide Justin with words during his daily Random Twitter Poetry Game and he creates a daily poem using those words.  He has amassed quite a few words and has created well over 600 poems.  Vol. 1 takes some of those poems and gives us a glimpse into some of the poetry that Justin has created.  Some of the poems may be whimsical while others are more dark.  Personally, I love the first poem in this volume, The Lust Queen.  It flows seamlessly and paints a clear picture.  It's exactly what I would expect from a well versed poet.  But don't take it from me, go and check it out!  If you have a buck to spend, go ahead and get the book and check it out.  If you are part of Amazon Prime, go ahead and borrow the book.  It's a great read and something that every poetry enthusiast will enjoy!  If you are interested in checking out some of Justin's this and other poetry, make sure to check out his site of poetry, Wanderer Thoughts.  Later!

ThunderStruck Movie (Starring Kevin Durant) Combo Pack Giveaway

Hey there. Who here is a sports fan? Specifically, the NBA? I love basketball. I'm a huge fan of the Los Angeles Lakers! I expect the Lakers to bounce back this year and avenge that playoffs series lost! If you watched the series, you may have noticed how atheltic and skilled the young Kevin Durant is. The young man is making a name for himself in the NBA and he's going to be a forced to be rekoned with for years to come! But I bet that many of you know that he starred in a family friendly film! For those of you looking for a wholesome film starring NBA All Star Kevin Durant, you have to check out his film, ThunderStruck! Keep Track of Your Child's Developement and Milestones with the Baby Zoe App

Hey there. As a parent, I love to keep track of the milestones that my kids achieve. Whether it be the date when my baby first crawled or walked to when they lost their first tooth. Unless you have a physical calendar that you keeps for years and years, this information can easily be lost. That is... unless you have the Baby Zoe app. The creators of the Baby Zoe app, Rusten and Karen Gomez, are like any other parents, worried about thier kids' health, what information needed for their doctors, and what could be done to ease the uncertainty that many of parents have with healthcare. The Baby Zoe app helps in all those areas and more! You can find the Baby Zoe app at the Apple App Store and at the Google Play App Store and the best part...  It's FREE!

Nintendo Wii U Launches in the US

Hey there.  Anyone else excited about the Wii-U release this weekend?  I walked into a local game stop on Saturday night already saw people lining up to get their pre-ordered Wii-U.  It was a pretty insane sight, actually.  New York City was an even crazier sight!  To celebrate the Wii-U release on Nov. 18th, Mii characters roamed the streets of New York City on Nov. 16th!  Check out some of those fun pictures of that event!

Donating to Locks of Love

Hey there.  About 15 years or so, when I was in Jr. High School, I decided that I was going to let my hair grow out.  Once the hair grew out, I was one of those guys with long hair.  It was most in a pony tail or "bunny tail" as some of my band mates would call it, and I rocked that style for years at a time.  When I graduated high school in the year 2000, I decided that it was time to start the new millenium with a different hair style.  At that point, I haven't had a hair cut in years so it felt odd going into a barber/hair salon to get it cut off.  While in the chair, I remember the woman complimenting me on my hair (soft, long, beautiful, etc. etc.) and that I should seriously consider donating it.  Donating my hair... now there's an idea.  I asked about what organizations I can donate to and she promptly stated that if I wanted to, they can donate my hair for me to Locks of Love.  I wasn't all that familiar with the organization so I asked questions.  What do they do?  Who do they benefit?  Is the organization reputable?  Once she explained it to me, my mind was made up.  I was donating my hair to Locks of Love.

Nintendo: The Gift of Gaming

Real life picture of me at age 5
Hey there.  Quick!  Think back at your most fondest, earliest gaming memory!  For those in my generation (I'm 30, by the way), the answer is going to be playing Atari or Nintendo at home.  Atari may have been in homes before Nintendo and I remember playing them both, but the fondest memories come from playing Nintendo.  I remember my cousin getting his before I did and I remember sneaking over to his place to play. We lived in an apartment building and his apartment was right below mine.  We would play into the wee hours of the night.  Whether it was Super Mario Bros., Contra, Bubble Bobble (which I've introduced to the kids on the Wii) or The Legend of Kage we simply could not get enough, but my most fondest memory in my gaming history has to be when my Dad handed me my Nintendo.

I Won a Season Pass of The Walking Dead on Steam from Zombie & Toys

Hey there.  I've been meaning to give a shout out to my friends over at Zombies & Toys for quite some time.  I received a small envelope some time ago of some of their awesome buttons and stickers.  One of their stickers currently resides on my laptop.  lol  Anyways, I received an Email from Zombies & Toys proclaiming me the winner of The Walking Dead Season Pass on Steam!  How freakin' awesome is that?!  The Walking Dead game is being released in episodes and I believe 3 of the 5 episodes have already been released.  The season pass will allow me to download and play all episodes as they become available!  I can't wait!  From what I hear from friends that have played them, they are pretty good.
See!  Zombies & Toys sticker in prime real estate on my laptop!
Being a huge fan of the The Walking Dead, I've been wanting to play these games but didn't want to shell out the cash to pay for each episode (Yeah... I can be a little bit of a cheapo when it comes to things I want).  The season pass is exactly what I needed to get access to all episodes.  I'm extremely excited about this win!  As for Zombies & Toys, they are an awesome group of zombie enthusiasts that you guys must check out.  You can usually find them in a booth in conventions with all sorts of awesome zombie stuff, especially zombie apparel!  Checkout their blog and Facebook page for all news zombie and awesome giveaways like the one that I won!  Thanks, friends at Zombies & Toys!  You guys rock!  Later!

Egraphs are the Autographs for the Digital Age
Hey there.  I'm a sports fan.  I've attending a few sporting events and I've always dreamed of having one of my favorite players sign something for me.  Whether it be a picture, towel, ball, whatever.  I just want to say that I have my favorite player's picture and have that to cherish for the rest of my life.  The problem?  It's tough to get anywhere near your sports idols these days.  And having things signed is great and all... IF YOU TAKE PRISTINE CARE OF YOUR ITEM.  The last thing you would want is to have it smudge, stained, torn, or lost.  That's why I think that these Egraphs are pretty awesome!  Check it out!

Nintendohemian Rhapsody

Hey there. I love me a good NES title. Why? Well because they are fun and challenging!  There was no internet to tell us what to do, there was rarely a strategy guide in sight, and if you died after using all of your continues, that was it.  Game over.  Start from the beginning... AGAIN!  Nevertheless, I loved them.  The video below expresses my sentiment EXACTLY!  Take a listen.  If you are a NES fan, you're going to love this!  Later!

I Think it's Time to Start a Podcast

Hmmm...  What should we do next?
Hey there. I think it's time to evolve. Like Pokemon, I am ready to grow and evolve as a blogger.  Yes, I used a Pokemon reference.  lol  Anyways, come March, Metallman's Reverie will be 5 years old.  5!  Last night, I took part in a podcast for the very first time.  And you know what... it was freakin' awesome! I have contemplated doing something like that before but now, having that first taste of being with a group and conversing over topics, I now know that I definitely want to do a podcast.  I have more than a few ideas that I have already come up with and I'm with talks with friends and family about which idea would be most likely come to fruition.

I want to change it up for you guys and I also would love your opinions.  Not only do I plan on getting a podcast going, I also plan on integrating video posts.  Maybe a retro game review?  A quick video on this week's game releases?  Maybe have some kind of Q&A?  Interviews perhaps?  I would like your input friends!  Comment below and let's see what we can come up with!  Later!

GoDaddy Oct. 2012 Promo Codes

Hey there.  I just renewed my domain name with for another 2 years. I've learned that if you want to be taken somewhat seriuos in this online world, you have to have your own domain name. More opportunities come your way and it's easier to find your site when it comes to online searches. For those of you that know me, I'm always looking for a good deal so I was fortunate enough to have a Godaddy .Com domain renewal promo code  to use for! I added a few promo codes here if you guys are looking for a Godaddy .Net renewal promo code or even a more recent Godaddy .Co renewal promo code. I'm not the biggest of fans of the .Co since it's just one letter fewer than .Com but hey, I guess we're running out of domain names, right? lol  Anyways, I was able to find a few more GoDaddy promo codes so feel free to take them and get your domain registered or renewed!

Stick it to Viruses! FixMeStick Review and Giveaway

Me and my new ammo against Viruses and Malware!
Hey there.  I was recently contacted by our good friends at FixMeStick and was offered an opportunity to try out their latest product:  The FixMeStick.  Let me paint a picture for you.  You're off, browsing the web like we all do, purchased some music, viewed some funny videos, and then... your computer crashes.  Oh man...  You get it load up but you notice it's a little sluggish.  Then there are a few pop ups that don't seem to want to go away.  Worst case scenario, the computer won't even boot up anymore because of the viruses and malware that have infected your computer.  Before you even get a chance to assess the damage, the virus or malware have taken over your computer.  You now consider it "useless" and need to get your tech friend to clean out your computer and hope to have it working soon.  Now, how many times have THAT happened to you?  I can tell you right now that I have cleaned out my fair share of computers and laptops and it can be a tedious task since computer threats have been getting smarter and more difficult to find and eliminate.  The FixMeStick makes this tedious task of virus removal extremely easy!

A Thirilling, Gaming Experience with DealDash

Hey there.  Who's looking to score on some awesome deals?  Who wants to get the stuff they want at a discounted price?  Who doesn't like feeling like a winner?  We've all seen the ads for penny auctions and their promises for awesome stuff for pennies on the dollar.  The problem with those penny auction sites, though, is that you have to purchase bids and once you use them and don't win the auction, you're out of luck.  Not only do you NOT get what you wanted but you lose out on the money you paid for the bids.  This is where DealDash is different!

Thoughts On... The Walking Dead Season 3 Episode 2 - Sick

Hey there.  Last week's episode was pretty cool and this week's was even better.  If you are not watching AMC's The Walking Dead then you must not like great television entertainment.  lol  Anyways, the third season started with plenty of excitement and this episode definitely continued down that trend.  We finally got a glimpse of another group and we find out what ends up happening to Herschel.  If you haven't seen this episode, step away and check it out.  There will be SPOILERS in this post.  Now here are my thoughts on...  The Walking Dead S3: E2 - Sick.

Risen 2 from Deep Silver

Risen 2 and Dead Island Riptide!
Hey there.  Guess who scored a free copy of Risen 2 by Deep Silver?!?!  Yup, this guy!  I entered a Twitter contest not too long ago and about a week or so ago, I get a direct message on Twitter saying that I'm a winner.  How awesome is that?!?!  I've enter all kinds of stuff online and what not and I rarely win anything.  I think this may be one of the first things that I have actually won online!  And it's a game!  I'll admit that I haven't cracked open this bad boy but I'll definitely be popping it my Xbox 360 tonight!
Pictured above...  NOT a goofy face!  lol
I included the above picture because... well... why not.  lmao!  First, I thought it was cool that the Risen 2 game came in the mail on the same day as the Game Informer with Dead Island Riptide on the cover.  It made me believe that some way, some how, Deep Silver made sure I got it with another Deep Silver for me to read up on.  Secondly, the wife asked why I make "goofy" faces in my pictures.  First things first, my dear...  I do not believe my face is goofy and... what's wrong with goofy faces?  lmao  Just wanted to share that small conversation between the wife and I.  Actually, most of our conversations can be summed up that way.  It's one the reasons why I love her.

I haven't played any of the Risen games.  What do you guys think of them?  Good, bad?  Worth spending a generous amount of time on?  Let me know!  Later!

Check out Risen 2 and Dead Island Riptide on Amazon!

Bioshock Infinite Release Date and Collectors Edition Details

Hey there.  FINALLY!!!  A release date for Bioshock: Infinite!  It was supposed to be out early this year... then it was supposed to be late this year and now...  it's February 26, 2013!  I can't wait!  I preordered this bad boy well over a year ago and when it was pushed back I was discouraged.  Good thing I only placed $5 to "hold the game" at that point in time.  There will be 2 collector's editions available for the game:  The Premium Edition and the Song Bird Edition.  Here's what you'll get with the Premium Edition:

Mud Factor 5K Obstacle Course

Hey there.  The year of fitness continues!  I came out of the Gladiator Rock'n Run a little bruised up and sore as hell but felt extremely good and proud of myself.  Now, the next challenge awaits!  The Mud Factor 5K Obstacle course!  Only this time, the wife will also participate.  It's going to be her first mud run so I'm making sure that she'll be ready to handle the course and I'll help her where I can.  I can't wait for this one to go down!  The only problem???  It's in San Bernadino...  That's about an hour drive away from Los Angeles.  I don't mind driving... but when I know it's a long trip I turn into a little kid and wonder when we'll get there.  lol  Anyways, I'm looking forward to going out there and earning my third medal of the year!  I CAN'T WAIT!!!

Any of you Southern California friends going to be at the Mud Factor mud run?  Time to turn up the workouts to 11 and get ready for another mud filled day of obstacles!!!  Later!

God of War Saga Winner - Persist

Hey there.  I wanted to give a shout out to the winner of the God of War Saga giveaway.  The winner, Persist, made a special request upon winning the giveaway.  He entered to win, but couldn't wait and ended up buying the game before he was chosen as the winner.  In lieu of the game, we decided on a $30 PSN network card.  I want to keep my winners happy, you know.  lol  You can't really provide a picture of PSN codes so I told him that I would give him a winners post regardless!

Persist can be followed on Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, and many other social media outlets.  He's created quite a few music videos that are pretty awesome.  If you love the hip hop scene, you should check out his music at PersistMuzik.  Congrats, Persist!  Hope you stick around and enjoy the site!  Later!

Thoughts On... The Walking Dead Season 3 Episode 1 - Seed

Hey there.  Who caught the season 3 premier of The Walking Dead last night???  Let me rephrase that...  Who DID NOT watch The Walking Dead last night!?!?!  AMC's insanely popular show finally returned last night with the first episode of the season 3.  The last episode of season 2 ended on such a high note that many fans were curious to see how the show would maintain the high intensity.  Michonne made an appearance, the farm was overrun by zombies, Shane's dead, Lori's preggers, we get a glimpse of the prison, and Rick.... Rick finally asserted himself as the man in charge, proclaiming that this is "no longer a democracy."  If you have yet to see S3:E1 - Seed, of the The Walking Dead, DO NOT CONTINUE.  SPOILERS BELOW.  This is not a recap of the episode.  You can go elsewhere for that.  These are just some observations and thoughts that I had while watching the show.  Now...  here are my thoughts on... Seed.
