Get a Life Podcast Coming Soon to Metallman's Reverie

Hey there.  It's time.  I'm ready to make an announce.  Trumpets please!  Brrrrr brrr BRRRRRRRRR!  We are starting a PODCAST!  Whoo hoo!  And the name of said podcast???  Get a Life!  lmao!  Who's excited?  I'm excited!  I say we because I will not be alone in this new project.  I've been thinking of changing things up here, at Metallman's Reverie, at first thought that maybe some video posts would be a welcomed change.  After doing my guest spot on the DragonCast on Dragonblogger.com, I decided that I wanted to start a podcast.  One day, while chatting it up with one of the cohosts of the DragonCast, Brian, we thought it would be a great idea to start a podcast where a couple of guys sit around and discuss video games.  Now... this is not going to be a straight forward, information only, type podcast.  There will be no scripts involved and the converstations to be had in regards to games, their impacts on our lives and the impact that they have on the gaming community, will completely be had on the fly.  In other words, this podcast will be about a group of friends, with different personalities, just chatting away and throwing their 2 cents on what's going on in their world of gaming.  The only thing that will be missing is the couch and few beers.  lol  What's not to like?

Thoughts On... The Walking Dead Season 3 Episode 2 - Sick

Hey there.  Last week's episode was pretty cool and this week's was even better.  If you are not watching AMC's The Walking Dead then you must not like great television entertainment.  lol  Anyways, the third season started with plenty of excitement and this episode definitely continued down that trend.  We finally got a glimpse of another group and we find out what ends up happening to Herschel.  If you haven't seen this episode, step away and check it out.  There will be SPOILERS in this post.  Now here are my thoughts on...  The Walking Dead S3: E2 - Sick.

Thoughts On... The Walking Dead Season 3 Episode 1 - Seed

Hey there.  Who caught the season 3 premier of The Walking Dead last night???  Let me rephrase that...  Who DID NOT watch The Walking Dead last night!?!?!  AMC's insanely popular show finally returned last night with the first episode of the season 3.  The last episode of season 2 ended on such a high note that many fans were curious to see how the show would maintain the high intensity.  Michonne made an appearance, the farm was overrun by zombies, Shane's dead, Lori's preggers, we get a glimpse of the prison, and Rick.... Rick finally asserted himself as the man in charge, proclaiming that this is "no longer a democracy."  If you have yet to see S3:E1 - Seed, of the The Walking Dead, DO NOT CONTINUE.  SPOILERS BELOW.  This is not a recap of the episode.  You can go elsewhere for that.  These are just some observations and thoughts that I had while watching the show.  Now...  here are my thoughts on... Seed.

August Photo a Day - Something You Love

I'm going to start using this on my little one!!!
Hey there.  Today's photo is of something that you love.  I couldn't have gone with the obvious choice here and added my family.  But I'm not the kind of guy that goes with the obvious.  lol  So I decided to go with something a little different.  HUMOR!  I love to laugh.  I love stupid funny movies.  I love comedy.  I love anything that will get a chuckle out of me.  Comics, TV, Live shows, entertaining acts, if it's funny, I will definitely enjoy it.  Funny is the reason why I have a humor section on this site!  lol  Whether it be gaming, geek, nerd, or sarcastic humor.  If it's out there and I saw it, I'll post it.  lol  So what's something that you love?  Later!

Pokies, Slots, and Fruit Machines

I LOVE the UFO bonus on Little Green Men!
Hey there.  You know, I love having a few days off from work.  I had one last week and I enjoyed another one today.  I get to spend some time with the wife and kids and we tend to just relax and have fun.  Today, the wife and I discussed my up and coming birthday.  The big 30!  We were thinking of maybe hitting Las Vegas for my birthday.  That would be awesome.  The wife is a fan of the slots while I'm more into poker.  But that didn't stop us from looking into it.  The funny thing is... when I start looking "into it" I venture off and find quirky facts instead of doing what I'm supposed to do.  lol I guess it's the whole, "oh... shiny" syndrome most men suffer from.  lmao!!!  Here is what I found on slot machines from different countries!

Battle of Los Angeles - The Lakers Vs. The Clippers

Lakers 113  -  Clippers  108
Hey there.  Last night, there was a dog fight in Los Angeles.  The Los Angeles Clippers and the Los Angeles Lakers, in the confines of The Staples Center, went all out to prove which team is the better team of Los Angeles.  There is definitely bad blood between them.  The Clippers, tired of being regarded as the little brother of the Lakers, went out and improved their team by acquiring star guard Chris Paul.  The same Chris Paul that the Lakers tried to acquire before the deal was struck down by the commissioner, David Stern.  The Clippers believing that they now have the superior team to take over Los Angeles, forgot that the Lakers have always been a formidable team.  Especially when the Kobe "The Black Mamba" Bryant refuses to lose.

Thoughts on... The Lorax

Hey there.  This weekend was the opening weekend of the film, The Lorax.  We haven't been to the theaters in awhile and I figured that it would be a great way to get out of heat (it was pretty hot in Southern California) and get into a nice air conditioned room and catch a movie.  Considering that 3D was only a dollar more per ticket, we went with the 3D version instead of the 2D version.  I'm still not sold on the whole 3D thing, but it does make movies a tad more interesting to watch.  After the popcorn was in the bucket, and the candy and nachos were passed out, we finally got to watching the film.  As with all of my "Thoughts on... posts, there are SPOILERS AHEAD.  If you plan on watching this film anytime soon, go check it out and then come back.  Here are my thoughts on...  The Lorax.

Girly Shows

Thanks to Erasmo Cortez

My husband always says he wishes he never connected Direct.TV in our house.  He loves watching sports and movies, but he always has a problem with what I want to watch.  He says I watch only the most annoying and girly shows, and they drive him crazy.  As soon as he walks in the door from work and I am watching TV, the complaining starts.  He hounds me until I agree to change the channel. I understand that he wants to watch certain things after a long day of work, but I don’t get why my taste in TV makes him so mad.  He especially hates The Real Housewives shows on Bravo.  He cannot imagine why anyone would be interested in watching “that garbage”.  He says the women are so vain and vapid that they don’t deserve to be glamourized.  I try to explain that people like them because watching those idiots is just funny.  I can’t understand how anyone becomes that stuck up and stupid.  It’s fun to see how the other half lives sometimes.  I wish he would just loosen up and laugh about it sometimes!

RIP Whitney Houston

Hey there.  Saturday afternoon, the world lost one of the greatest voices we have ever heard.  Now, I'm not going to say that I'm the biggest fan... because I'm not.  I know of Whitney Houston because of some of her misguided decisions involving drugs (crack is whack), her marriage to Bobby Brown, and The Bodyguard.  Let's be honest here, anyone that has ever heard of Whitney Houston knows her from one of those three things so when news broke out that she passed away, almost everyone was in some way shape or form, affected by it.

Colts Peyton Manning Calling It Quits?!

Hey there.  The NFL has been good to me.  It has brought me many great times with my brother and I'm happy to see that those great times are now including my son.  His love for the game is increasing with each year and I'm thankful that we all got to experience our first NFL game together.  Throughout the years, I have seen great players come and go.  Barry Sanders, Joe Montana, John Elway.  At the same time, I've seen perennial busts.  Ryan Leaf, JaMarcus Russell, Akili Smith.  But you know what?  That's why I love the game.  You just never know who will emerge a star and which ones will fall like no other.  So when word gets out that one of the greats is thinking retirement, the sports world listens.  Peyton Manning has been plagued by neck injuries.  He's had like 3 or so neck surgeries in a little over a year.  It doesn't take a doctor to say that playing in the NFL after so many surgeries on the neck may not be the best of ideas.  Recently, the Indianapolis Colts have cleaned house.  They have fired couches and executives and there is speculation that Manning might be next to go.  With the Colts holding that #1 pick, Andrew Luck could very well be on his way to Indy.  And if that's the case, what's to happen to Manning?  If we are to believe Rob Lowe, yes... that Rob Lowe, Peyton is planning on retiring.

Kat Dennings and 2 Broke Girls

This, my friends, is Kat Dennings
Hey there. Who is this Kat Dennings character? I recently started watching the TV show 2 Broke Girls with the wife and she seems to be fascinated by Kat Dennings.  When word got out that she was to be in a new sitcom, the wife was intrigued and needed to watch it. Me, finding ways to spend more time with my wife, decided that it would be a good idea to watch it with her. I know Kat Dennings from the film Nick & Nora's Infinite Playlist and that was pretty much it. Until recently, I haven't given much thought to her. But now that I'm watching 2 Broke Girls on NBC, I find myself intrigued by her and the show.

The Office

Thanks to Danny Mays

The Office has been running for many years now. At first I was not a fan of the show because I didn’t really understand the dry humor and the way that the actors look directly at the camera to make a point was a little unnerving to watch at first. Now I am hooked on the show. I set a series recording on my new Direct.tv DVR so I can get and watch every episode without commercials! Yay! No commercials ever again! So anyway back to The Office. My favorite people on the show are Jim and Pam. They had a little office romance going for quite a while before they actually decided to start dating. Back in those days Pam was dating some guy from the warehouse but Jim would still flirt with her all day long to try to win her over. Finally they decided to get married so they went up to Niagra falls to have a small family wedding but of course the whole crew from their office had to show up to crash the party.

Metallman is Now a Part of the Joystick Division Team

Hey there.  I want to expand.  I want to have my name across all sorts of sites.  The problem that I came across was I was unorganized.  I didn't know how to cut up my time to be able to write for more than one site. Now, I'm come across a system that is working for me.  And because this system is now in place, I should be more active across all the sites that I currently write for.  And with that, I am glad to announce that I am now a part of the Joystick Division team!  Here's the story.
