Earn Amazon Gift Cards with Swagbucks

Hey there.  I recently became a member of a new site in hopes of earning a few bucks to spend on Amazon.com.  I've been rewarded with a few Amazon gift cards and I love the fact that you can enter the gift cards at Amazon and it will keep a running balance of the gift cards that you redeem.  Once you're ready to check out, it automatically deducts what you have available BEFORE asking for alternate form of payment.  How awesome is that?!?!  Anyways, Swagbucks has been the answer that I looking for.  Earn swagbucks for searching the web, answering surveys, participating in daily polls, participating in Twitter Tuesday, etc. etc.  You redeem your swagbucks at their store for some pretty awesome stuff.  I'm not going to lie, I'm in it solely to redeem Amazon gift cards!  So.. why the need to let you know?  Because I recently was accepted into their blogging program so I can now let you know about their upcoming events!  If you haven't joined yet, you definitely should check it out.  Here's what's in store for next week!

What's Going On

Hey there.  March 1st, that's today.  It is exactly 12 days away from finishing my 3rd year of blogging.  I can't believe that it's been close to 3 full years already!  I  was thinking of maybe doing some kind of give a away.  Maybe a game?  Maybe some cash?  Maybe some kind of prize?  I don't know just yet.  I've been thinking about it, I've just haven't decided what it will be.  Any suggestions?

Best workstation ever!
On a side note, I just wanted to fill you guys in and what's been going down on my side of computer.  My geek side has been pretty busy.  I unlocked my cousin's iPhone last night, I am working on fixing 2 more PS3s, and I have an XBOX 360 coming my way later tonight for me to take a look at.  I'm sure my wife is not thrilled about it.  I'm one those people that gets a little geeked out by this kinda stuff and will spend hours non stop working on all things tech. My wife made a comment to my cousin and his wife how she should dress up as some broken tech device so that I would pay attention to her.  lol

Things on the blogging side have been going well.  Just not as well as I would like.  I managed to get the computer at home working but I haven't been working much at home.  My time online has been tight and I manage to churn out a post or two.  I need to get on the ball with that and spend some more leisure time on improving my online stats.  I've also made a conscience effort to provide more comments on blogs.  I've been horrible at letting know that I've stopped by so that's being improved upon.

Midnight snacks are the best!
Working out has been good to me, I guess.  I missed my exercise check in last week (damn time restrictions) so I'll make sure that I have one in this week.  Most likely be done tomorrow or Thursday.  I don't feel as winded as I have before and the wife says that there is some subtle differences in my body.  But, I don't know if I'm helping the cause by having ice cream at midnight.  lol

I also had a so called "man date" this Saturday with the compadre and a friend.  That adventure will be detailed in an upcoming post.  lol

I know I'm forgetting some stuff but I'm sure that'll just come to me later.  So what's going on with you, friends?  What's new in the life of you?  Hope to hear from you soon.  Later!

Win a Free Weekend Stay at any Hampton Hotel

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Hampton Hotels. All opinions are 100% mine.

Hampton_logo
Hey there friends.  I recently had the pleasure of taking a week off from work.  Unfortunately, I didn't have the resources to take off on a leisure vacation with the family and see something outside the norm.  I'm pretty sure that with this slowly recovering economy, any accommodations that we can get for free will be a blessing.  Our good friends at the Hampton Hotels know this and are giving away free weekend stays!

The Hampton Chain of Friends Sweepstakes is definitely one to take part in.  It's not simply a hotel room for you and your friends or family.  No, the Hampton Hotel is offering 100 rooms for 2 nights for the grand prize winner.  Let that sink in!!!  100 rooms!  That's practically the whole hotel for you and your guests.  You can finally spend some time with those friends of yours that you haven't seen in years or invite your distant family members for free weekend stay to catch up and relax.  With 100 rooms at your disposal, I'm not even sure that you will fill them all!  They are also offering 100 First Prizes with is a free hotel stay for the winner and three of his or her friends.  That's still a great time waiting to happen.  To enter, you fill out a simple form with your contact information.  That's it!  Make sure you enter for you chance to win.  The contest ends on 9/4/10 so there's only a week or so left to enter.

It's important to get away from the stresses of work and if you can get that weekend stay for free, why not enter for that free hotel room?  It's great to bond with friends and family.  It builds for a better relationship and it stronger bonds that last a lifetime.  I already told myself that the next chance I get, we'll be taking a vacation as family.  I already have my eye on the Hampton Inn south of the Disneyland Hotel in Orlando Florida.  Yeah, we have a Disneyland in California, but this is Disneyworld that we're talking about here.  I'm sure that friends and family would have a grand time hanging out at Disneyland and hanging out in Florida.  Hopefully, I'll get that call or Email stating that I'm a winner.  Hmmm...  if I do get to be a winner...  should I give out a stay to one of my readers???  I'll have to think about that one for a minute.  lol  Until then, later!

Earn a Year Long Subscription of TrainingVOD ($399 value) and Improve Your Business

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of TrainingVOD. All opinions are 100% mine.

Hey there friends.  I'm made comments before how my blog, Metallman's Reverie, is now considered a small business.  I think it's great, but like all small businesses... I need to make sure that I'm on top of my game to protect and grow my business.  With more exposure comes increased critique and you want to put the best product out there when dealing with potential sponsors and clients.  This is where TrainingVOD has been an irreplaceable ally.

With over 50 years of presentation experience (ranging from classrooms to fortune 500 companies), TrainingVOD gives you the look and feel of in person training in the form of 10 minute videos.  If put it in perspective, there are 7 minutes in between commercials when you watch TV so these videos are streamlined towards the common consumer.  By keeping things tactical instead of story based, the videos are perfect in giving us the information we need and how to apply those skills.

So what kind of videos are we talking about here?  The kind that will help your business grow, expand, and help you be a better leader.  With topics that range from HR & Compliance to Safety and Operations and video courses ranging from protecting your PC to negotiating styles and Sales, you'll learn a great deal of information on how to assess and deal with any scenario that you may have to deal with.

I'm currently a subscriber to the "Business Skills" set of videos (197 courses) and I must confess that the courses are definitely for the average Joe.  There is no fancy gimmicks in the videos and they definitely feel as if actual trainers made these and not graphic artists.  If I can "get it" within 10 minutes, I don't see why no one else can.  With that being said, who wants in on TrainingVOD and learn the skills to improve your business and improve your skills of being a leader? That's right, my good friends at TrainingVOD has offered one of my readers a full year of the "Business Skills" set of courses and videos for free. FOR FREE! That $399 worth of training for free when fortune 500 businesses are paying up to a $1000 for similar training DVDs.All you have to do is leave a comment telling me how these videos would be beneficial to you.  That's it.  A simple comment and you're in the sweepstakes.  On August 1st, I will announce the winner among the comments (chosen by random.org) and provide them with instructions on how to obtain their free year subscription.

Good luck to all you friends and don't forget to check out this quick tour of TrainingVOD.  http://www.trainingvod.com/content/tour It's just a taste of how to improve your business and leadership skills.  Later!

DOVE® Ice Cream Mini Moment Contest

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Dove Ice Cream. All opinions are 100% mine.

Hey there friends.  My wife recently decided to be a stay at home mom and while she's loving the extra time with the kids, she's also found out that there is a lot more involved than cooking and cleaning.  She zooms off and does several errands, all while coming and going from school to pick up the kids.  And trust me friends, it's no easy task when a baby is also involved.  She feels the pressure to be super mom and hot wife all in one.  That's why she hits the gym in the evenings and watches what she eats.  I don't know how she does it!

The other night, she took a moment to herself.  Sitting on the couch, enjoying some chocolate ice cream.  You can see it in her face that it was pure bliss.  She has asked me to remind her when she's "cheating" on her diet but once I noticed the box of the ice cream she was eating, I knew it was OK.  Dove Ice Cream Minis are only 70 calories each and it's perfect for when anybody wants to get away and just enjoy a moment to yourself.  And my wife, being a smart cookie, got the new Cafe flavored bars, which include Cappuccinno and Java chip flavors.  She's also cut down on coffee so I thought she was getting the best of both worlds!

After reading more on the box, I noticed that DOVE is holding a “My Mini Moment” contest where they are asking women to submit the favorite "me" moment for a chance to win 1 of 3 sensational mini-grand prizes: a mini-getaway to Napa Valley, Spa services for a year or a mini-home makeover.  What hard working mother and wife would NOT want to enter this contest?  And the best part is that DOVE knows that all women are unique so the winner will get to choose their prize.  Don't get me wrong, all women can enter but I would love for MY wife to take home a prize.  She deserves it!  lol  To enter, you will need to submit a photo and short essay at DoveIceCream.com/myminimoment by June 7, 2010.  Sorry guys, even though you may sneak a piece or two away from the ladies, this contest is open to women only.
So ladies, take a minute to yourselves and enjoy the moment.  Snap a picture and write a quick essay and enter this contest.  For you women who blog, this should be especially easy since you already spend some time writing!  For all the work that you ladies do, DOVE is here to say "thanks".  Later!

You've won a bag.  I'll be contacting you for shipping instructions and what not shortly!  Thanks to those that entered.  I'm not so sure I'll have any more since I didn't get the best of turns outs, but who knows... Maybe I'll give em away anyways!  Until then, later!

BCBG Hand Bag Giveaway

Hey there. I wanted to post this yesterday but seeing that half the world was expecting pranks and what not, I figured to just wait until today. As I mentioned in this post, my wife has a few bags that may have been used once or twice that she wanted to donate to charity. I seize the opportunity and decided that maybe I would be able to give some of the bags away to readers of my site. So without further delay, here's is the first bag up for grabs!
Not bad, right?  The bag is in great condition.  It's not a brand new bag but it was only used about twice so there is nothing wrong with it.  Check out the pictures for your scrutiny.  The only thing that I found off with the bag is the plastic thing that wraps around the handle.  One of them looks a little weird, but other than that, there is nothing wrong with this bag.  So here's the deal, you will need to earn entries into this drawing.  How do you get em, like this:

Comment this post (1 entry)
Retweet this post using button above (2 entries)
Subscribe to this blog (2 entries)
Post about this giveaway (5 entries)

Sounds fair, no?  All entries must be submitted by April 18th and I will announce the winner on April 19th.  Winner will be chosen by random.org so the more entries you have, the better the chance the random.org gods will chose you as the winner.  I won't be able to ship the bag internationally so I regret to inform you that only my US friends are eligible to enter.

This is the first bag out of a few.  If I get a good turn out on this giveaway, I'll make sure to reward you guys by having another.  So make it happen, friends!  And good luck!  Later!

You Gotta See This Contest Winners

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Incendia Health. All opinions are 100% mine.

Hey there friends.  Most people that I know do not have perfect vision.  They either have glasses or wear contacts.  I, myself, wear glasses all day, everyday.  I can't see a thing without them... and it frustrates me when I don't have them on, because, well.... I'm blind as a bat without them.  I've even contemplating getting the LASIK procedure done. I've wondered how my different my life could be by having near perfect vision. I'm not the only one who wondered and thanks to the iLASIK Video Contest, I've been able to see what others have thought of having their life changed by LASIK.

The iLASIK Video Contest is now over, so you can't submit your own video, but you can still check out the contest winners here. My personal favorite being the “Contacts Stink” video.

I'm still debating on whether or not the procedure is for me. I'm in my late 20s and I don't know if my vision will continue a slow decline or if it will finally hit a plateau. I'll talk it over with the wife some more to get a better feel of what we think is best. I know I'm not the only one contemplating this, as evidenced by all the videos that were entered in the contest! Until then, later!

Women and Their Love for Bags

Hey there.  Is it me or do women in general own too many bags?  When I first met my wife, I was astounded by the collection of hand bags that she owned.  Small bags, big bags, colorful bags, monotone bags, expensive bags and not so expensive bags.  She seemed to have one in every color and one for each occasion.  The top half of her closet was dedicated to bags alone.

Now, I never really understood why she needed so many.  Me, being a man, I simply may not have the brain power to fully grasp the concept.  I always viewed bags a the female equivalent of a wallet.  In my mind, since women tend to wear fitted clothing, pockets are kinda meaningless in pants and a bag is necessary to carry stuff.  I don't change my wallet unless it's falling apart...  The bag, however, will alternate with several other bags and they eventually stay in pretty good condition.

"Why are you telling me this, Metallman?  I don't care about whether or not your wife has 2 bags or a million bags."

Well, my friends, you're about to care.  A few days ago, my wife got the urge to clean out the closet.  Must be the Spring Cleaning bug, I don't know, but she pulled out several handbags that she wants to get rid of.  The bags are of the BCBG variety and are in great shape.  Now, let me tell you, my wife takes really good care of her stuff.  Some of the bags still have the tag in them and others, she never really used.  After a brief discussion with the wife, I decided that instead of donating the bags the local Salvation Army, I've decided that I'm going to give them away to my readers, one at a time.

I'm still debating on how I'm going to do it.  Will it be a contest type thing where an entry is earned for every comment, post, or tweet?  Or should it be a comment only sweepstakes where the random.org gods determine the winner?  I'm still thinking about how to go about it and I welcome suggestions.  Keep on the look out the first one up for grabs some time next week.  Until then, later!

Tony's Pizza is Perfect for Family Entertainment

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Tony's Pizza. All opinions are 100% mine.

Hey there friends. For those of you in the know, I tend to have a few get togethers at my place from time to time. They usually involve friends and family coming over for a night of good eating, a few drinks, and some crowd pleasing Rock Band or Guitar Hero. One of the problems that my wife and I tend to have when having company is over is what we should feed our guests. It's always a problem since everyone has a unique taste and we usually can't agree to a single thing. On some occasions everyone just gets what they want. lol But that changed the last time I had a get together. The one food that everyone can agree too? PIZZA!!! You can never go wrong with pizza. More specifically, Tony's Pizza.

Our good friends at Tony's Pizza sent me a few coupons to try out some of their pizza and I must confess, I didn't need coupons to buy Tony's. I'm a regular customer since I was a young one. But for this instance, it was not intended for me, but for my guests. Whether they wanted pepperoni, all cheese, or a supreme pizza, Tony's had it ready to bake and serve.

No guest left unhappy. We all had our fair share of Tony's and some were even quite surprised. For being a budget saving pizza, Tony's is pretty good and considering that some of my guests have never had it before, they were quite pleased by the quality of the pizza. It's nice and crispy, tastes great, and is definitely one of the finer pizzas that comes out of a box.

If you don't believe me, here's your chance to prove it. As I mentioned earlier, my friends at Tony's Pizza supplied me with a more than few coupons so I am more than willing to share the wealth so that you guys can try it too. Here's the deal. Leave a comment on this post telling me what you look for in a pizza. All qualifying comments will then be numbered and I'll have Random.org choose the winner for me. I'll let you know if you've won and I'll send you 2 coupons for 1 free Tony's Pizza.Winner will be announced on March 15th so that gives you a little under 2 weeks to leave a comment.

It's quick, it's easy, and it tastes great.  Especially when coupled by chicken wings.  Really, friends...  when was the last time you had pizza without wings?  lol  So join me in supporting my number one choice in pizza when it comes to family entertainment! You can never go wrong with a little Tony's.  Later!

Let Your Voice be Heard by Singing in the Popstation Contest

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Popstation. All opinions are 100% mine.

Hey there friends. Have you ever sat down and watched American Idol on TV and figured that you could do better? If only those auditions were held in my city then I'd give it a shot and show those celebrity judges a real voice? Well, now is your chance to let the masses hear your voice. Grab that microphone and head on over to PopStation.

Popstation.com is a website where an everyday Joe, like myself, can grab a mic and sing a song for my fellow peers to hear and judge. You can upload original content or you can enter into their contests and score some really big prizes. As in THE BIG DEAL type prize. If you can promote your song to #1, you can win an all expense paid trip to New York City where you will spend 2 days enjoying the sites. Oh, and did I forget to mention that you will record your very own record. That's right, your very own record deal!

Sign up is free and entering the contest is a breeze. You simply check out the song that is currently playing in the practice rooms and make it your own. You can then record your very own version of the song and once you're confident that it's the best that you got, you can upload it to Popstation as an MP3 file. You then can enter your song into the contest and watch your version of the song rise the charts! There's all sorts of neat badges that you can display on your profile, such as top 100 artist, but what you really want to reach #1 to be considered for The Big Deal prize. It is awarded once every 3 months and the winners professional recording will be made available under the "Artists" section of Popstation.

And the best part? You can choose a genre that you would like to sing to. Do you have a heart for country music? . Or are you a great voice with soul? Then head on over to the Hip Hop/ R&B section and show us what you got. Or do you have a great rock voice (like your truly. =oD)? Then show us your chops under the Rock songs and strut your stuff.

If you have the voice, then show the world. You definitely need to check out this community of talented voices and see where you stack up amongst your peers. I'm creating my profile as we speak. I'll probably be under The Artist formerly known as Metallman. lol Wait! I guess I need to be an artist first before I can be "formerly" be an artist. I guess Metallman will do. lol Hope to see your profile soon as well. Later!
