Bitdefender Total Security Antivirus Takes Next Gen Online Security to the Next Level

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Bitdefender for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

Bitdefender Hey there.  With the internet being more integral in our everyday lives, the next gen of online security has been working hard to make sure we are protected.  Threats are everywhere.  From phishing scams to hackers.  From viruses to spyware.  We need to make sure that we are protected from all threats and not just some of the threats.  It doesn't make sense to protect yourself from only a portion of the threats out there.  Many antivirus programs offer you protection from many online threats, but I believe that Bitdefender Total Security is the only one that offer full and complete protection.  Why?  Because they offer Bitdefender SafePay.

August Photo a Day - Something You Love

I'm going to start using this on my little one!!!
Hey there.  Today's photo is of something that you love.  I couldn't have gone with the obvious choice here and added my family.  But I'm not the kind of guy that goes with the obvious.  lol  So I decided to go with something a little different.  HUMOR!  I love to laugh.  I love stupid funny movies.  I love comedy.  I love anything that will get a chuckle out of me.  Comics, TV, Live shows, entertaining acts, if it's funny, I will definitely enjoy it.  Funny is the reason why I have a humor section on this site!  lol  Whether it be gaming, geek, nerd, or sarcastic humor.  If it's out there and I saw it, I'll post it.  lol  So what's something that you love?  Later!

Vipre The Next Gen in AntiVirus Software

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of GFI for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.
Hey there.  One of the worst things that can happen to your computer is for it to get malware or a virus.  It can be catastrophic.  At best, you'll have annoying pop ups to deal with.  At worse, you'll have useless computer.  I've seen it happen many times.  I do computer work for many friends and family and that converstation always starts with, "I think I have a virus."  There are many free antivirus and malware detectors out there.  The problem with them, though, is that they WILL slow your computer down.  The last thing you want is to sacrifice speed and power to protect yourself from online threats.  This is why Vipre Antivirus program has now taken the top spot in software programs that you must have on your computer.

Cover Those 4 Fatal Gaps and Prevent Data Loss with CDW

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of CDW for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.
Hey there.  It's happened to all of us.  As you're typing that report for your job, the power goes out and you did not save.  You can always just redo the report by staying up later to ensure that it gets done but the time and effort that you put into it are taking away from other constructive projects.  On a small scale, the report will only take no more than a day of your time.  But on a larger scale, data loss can take days, weeks, or even months and can potentionally cripple your business.  How so?  What if your Accounts Payable department made checks that they shouldn't have?  What if your precious designs were compromised?  What if your customers' data was stolen?  There are at least 4 fatal gaps in your network that could crumble what you've worked hard to build.  Don't let that happen!  Our good friends at CDW get it!  They understand that having the latest in security will help keep your network secure.

Hubby and I

I'm surprised there are some areas with NO internet access!!!
Thanks for the guest post by Donn Schroeder

When my husband and I moved here one of the first things I did was look up satellite internet service in my area. I knew since it was really rural out here we might have trouble finding a provider but it’s actually been easier than I gave it credit for in the first place. I think it’s amazing so many people go without internet at home but I do so much of my shopping online and my personal communication via email I don’t know how I would survive one day without the web. Aside from that I don’t really get cell service out here at my house so I really need to have email to keep in touch with my family and everyone else who might be wondering what I’m up to. I think I’m going to like it here but it is going to take some getting used to being out here in the country and not so much in the city. It’s a different lifestyle, though, and I knew it!

Organize Your Web Surfing with Clipix

Hey there.  Tired of having a huge list of bookmarks?  Don't get me wrong, bookmarking sites works for when you need to go back to something that you want to check out.  The problem with bookmarking is that you can save different pages from the same site and each one will pop up as a seperate bookmark.  Unless you were super specific on how you titled it, you could be going through a few bookmarked pages to find what you were looking for.  What if I told you there was a better way?  Well, there is!  By using clipix, you can "clip" sites and organize them so that you can go back to them later!

US Senator Dianne Feinstein on SOPA and PIPA

Advocate for the people???
Hey there.  It looks like the internet and it's users won the battle against PIPA and SOPA last week.  That doesn't mean that the war has been won.  We need to stay on top of our elected officials to speak up for us and fight for our right to free speech.  Because I participated in the great "internet black out" on Jan. 18th, I made sure that my senator heard from me when I signed the online petition.  US Senator Dianne Feinstein heard my voice and responded with the below Email:

Hey there.  Users of the internet are one of the most diverse groups to be ever found.  Angry users, funny users, serious users, working users.  Bloggers, journalists, game addcits, shopoholics... the list goes on and on. It would be amazing if something where to be able to bring this vast group to stand as one.  It's a task that would seem to be impossible.  Well... today... it happened.  Internet users and websites everywhere are taking a stand and striking against the proposed SOPA/PIPA bills that will soon be voted on by Congress.

Backup Your Data Online with Carbonite

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Carbonite for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.
Carbonite Online Backup
Hey there.  Tell me if this hasn't happened to you.  After a long night of working on important documents, you save your files, you shut down your computer, and tell yourself that you'll finish it up tomorrow.  You get up, ready to tackle the task at hand when your computer starts making funny noises.  Beeps abound, you use all your tech knowledge to try and get the computer to start up.  And then....  nothing.   Lastly, you scream in frustration when you realize that not only are you losing all of last night's work, but pretty much all your data files on your computer.  You feel like crying.  Scary thought, no?  Well guess what.  It happens more often than not and it's heartbreaking when it does.  Years of stored pictures and years of stored music...  gone forever.  This is why it's important to have a quiality back up plan in case your computer decides to call it quits and our good friends at Carbonite have your back.

Review the Web Host Before Buying

Hey there.  Some of you already know that I've been looking for a fair price web hosting agent for quite sometime now.  The only thing holding me back is change.  It's the same reason why I haven't really pressed for a new blog lay out, a new blog logo, or a new blog host.  I'm comfortable with what I have but I know that I need an upgrade.  I have many blog friends with several different web hosting agents and each has their pros and cons about them.  I don't ask for much, I just need to make sure it works.  I don't want to deal with outages and interruptions in service because my web host is having issues.  I need to make sure that what I go with I am comfortable with.  This is why I strongly suggest you review the services thoroughly.

Some Thoughts on Satellite Internet

Hey there.  We live in a digital world and I began to wonder exactly how far we've come in keeping people connected via the internet.  You can find the internet almost everywhere.  Offices, libraries, and even some fast food places have wifi hot spots for customers to use.  Now, I hear that even rural areas getting connected via satellite internet.  That's right.  Internet via satellite.
