Get $10 Off The Spartan Race

SR National Fire 300x250
Hey there.  I'm pretty excited about the Super Spartan Race that I will be taking part in this January.  Yeah... I signed up well in advance to make sure that I will be at the best physical shape I possibly can!  I decided to start doing a few runs this year.  I participated in some light running (The Color Run) and I was fortunate enough to be invited to participate in the challenging Hero Rush.  Now, from what I hear, the Spartan Race is one of the more challenging obstacle courses out there.  I was persuaded to sign up by a cousin of mine and to be honest, I think it's one of the better choices I have made this year.  I have increased my workout load and I'm feeling pretty damn good about myself.

Chauvinism, Chainsaw Massacres and Characters

With the release of the movie Brave fresh in our minds, I can’t help but think of this film and how empowering it was to women and, ultimately, how it compares to the portrayal of women in other movies. Brave was probably the first Disney film I saw featuring a female protagonist whose sole motivation wasn’t getting married or being rescued by a prince and, you know, that was okay too.

This is one friend request that I'll definitely decline!  Happy Friday the 13th friends!!!

What the Hell Happened to Music?

I don't think anyone could match what Freddie Mercury created!
Hey there.  I saw this online sometime today and I realized something...  The music of today sucks.  Well... let me rephrase, the majority of the music of today sucks.  Quite frankly, I just don't listen to the radio anymore... unless it's AM sports talk radio.  I feel as if the musicians of this generation have so many hands in "their music" that it's not really theirs.  Some writer or writers came up with the words, another one came up with the composition, and the "artist" is just the voice that sings (or lipsings) the crap out of that song.  I wouldn't really call myself a musician if that's how my career ended up.  Anyways what do you think?  Was the music simply better back then?  Am I really the only one that feels this way?  Later!
