Hey there. The September Otaku Box is here!!! Actually... it's been here... I just haven't had a chance to take pics and post. Anyways...as you all know... I sure do love me some anime stuff and I'm just so glad that I get a box of quality otaku goodies each month. This month's goodies include items from awesome anime such as: Monster Musume, Darling in the Franxx, Spy x Family, and Fire Emblem. So let's dig into The Otaku Box - September 2022 Edition and get a closer look at what's inside.
Suu!!! I have been looking forward this particular figure. Not only because Suu is awesome... or because the figure is well designed. Ii was looking forward to this figure because it was mentioned by Liz that Suu's, "hair", would be made of resin! This is a step up from the previous figures and I love to see how The Otaku Box evolves their figures and this a great leap towards improving the quality of their figures! Excellent job!
As for the figure itself, I absolutely love this figure! Suu is a slime girl that loves to be in water, and she typically doesn't wear anything, but the use of a raincoat and boots as her clothes is perfect. Also, the gradual color change of her hair is extremely well done. The turquoise to green to yellow gradient in her hair is stunning and because it is made of resin, you can see through it, giving off that slime/see through vibe. Also, using an aqua color for Suu's skin just finishes off this figure perfectly. Extremely well done and this is an excellent addition to my anime figure collection!
Darling in the Franxx - Bridal Zero Two Banner
Zero Two is back! But this time in a bridal dress!!! The design of the dress is definitely taking inspiration from the Strelizia True Apus design. The low cut dress is very similar to the Strelizia True Apus dress and the single red line across the dress is reminiscent to those seen on the Strelizia franxx. Awesome job combing those two to create a wedding dress that is fitting of Zero Two. And the design does an excellent job of highlighting Zero Two's pink hair. It really stands out amid all the white. Love this!
I really like the look of silver and this The Otaku Box keychain is something I really, really like. It looks pretty fancy schmancy and is a practical item... and you guys know how I feel about practical items. Love it!
Genshin Impact - Fire Element Bracelet
I'm not the biggest fan of Genshin Impact. I try to stay away from MMORPGs because I know that once I dive in, you guys might never hear from me again. lol I know that Genshin is more of an online RPG but I just want to risk it. Anyways, even though I know little about Genshin, I do know that this fire element bracelet is absolute FIRE. I love the design and feel of this bracelet. Great piece of gaming jewelry for any fan of fire!
Spy x Family - Draw String Bag
Anya! Spy x Family! This anime is one of my favorite of the season and my kids are already jostling amongst themselves to see who is going to claim this bag. lol It's a fun design and works really, really well. The name of the show is Spy x Family (you do not pronounce the x) and the design of the bag plays well into that. Anya's design is within the x and having her come off sideways just emphasizes her playful nature. Well designed draw string bag!
Attack on Titan - Historia Button
I really like this playful look on Historia. Attack on Titan can be pretty grim at times and you don't see our heroes smile much. So to see art work where Historia is smiling while having a playful demeanor is definitely welcomed. The wings of freedom in the background is a nice touch and the chains on each side could very well represent the bind that Historia may find herself in. It's a very well thought out design and one of my favorite buttons!
Fire Emblem - Cordelia Waifu Card (Bonus Item)
Cordelia! I don't see much love for Cordelia when it comes to Fire Emblem so it's pretty cool to see her get some love in this waifu card! This genius perfectionist is coming off with a strong sense of determination in this pose! The holographic aspects of this card really emphasize the color aspects of her bow and it gives Cordelia a regal, almost angelic, aspect by highlighting her necklace and the accents of her dress. A really great card to add to the collection.
Demon Slayer- Hanafuda Earring Necklace (VIP Item)
I thought this was a pretty cool item. Demon Slayer is still pretty hot and this hanafuda earring necklace is a great way to showcase your love for Tanjiro and the crew. This symbol of the sun breathing technique looks great on Tanjiro and will also look awesome hanging from your neck.
And there you have it, folks. The Otaku Box - September 2022 Edition. Man, I've been really loving some of the stuff I've been getting here. Also, because I am now considered a Legendary Subscriber (being a member for a year or more), I get some extra items in my Otaku Box. Going through the items this month, I'm going to give my favorite item vote to the Suu Figure. The resin hair, the overall color scheme, the pose, and just about everything else about it. This Suu figure is arguably the best figure that The Otaku Box has yet to offer!
