Metallman is Looking Forward to 2012 and Giving Thanks

Hey there.  With the year almost over, I wanted to touch base on where I am headed and where this site is headed.  I've had my share of personal posts, which I wanted to do more of, and I've lagged it in the poetry department (sorry poetry enthusiasts!).  I've added my brother as a writer, which I hope he continues to produce content and I've passed through the gates of giveaway land.  That's really where I have made some decent traffic this year.  My giveaway posts have landed me thousands of pageviews and I'm grateful for it.  That's why I've decided to keep that going for as long as the site is up.  I've also added a game each month so instead of just one game being given away, I'm giving away 2 games.  I'm hoping that the increased pageviews will bring attention to other posts.  I lack comments on this site and I blame myself for it.  Maybe I need to change from using Disqus and try a different comment system.  I don't know just yet, but considering the size of Metallman's Reverie, I need to have a decent layout and a great comment system working.  All of that is looking to be changed in the coming year.

I'm also glad that I have writing positions in other websites.  I still need to find a way to organize my schedule to provide the best quality stuff that I can to my employers.  I made a conscience effort to do that this month and I think it's worked out well, so far.  I also want to take a minute to thank those sites, and their owners/staff, for taking me on and allowing me to be a part of the team.
To Dragonblogger.com and it's main man, Justin:  We met many moons ago and started blogging around the same time.  You've always been driven and have succeeded across your three sites.  I've always followed you and respected your work and always looked at you as a benchmark for me.  Of course... I fall way short, but hey, it's a hobby, right?  lol  Anyways, when you started to take on author's for your ever expanding Dragonblogger site, I had to take a chance and be a part of it.  I haven't been as productive as I would have liked this past year, but I plan on remedying that in the coming year.  Thanks for the opportunity, wishing you nothing but the best, and here's to a prosperous new year!
To Sleeping in the Wet Spot and the awesome woman behind it, Jenn:  I'll be honest, I don't recall how our paths met.  I may have stumbled to your site, left a few comments, and before I knew it, I had a friend.  When the opportunity came to provide you with a review, I jumped on it.  Not because of the nature of the product, but because it's different.  I like trying out new things and I'm always looking to explore a new venture and you definitely were able to provide a means to express myself in a more adult environment.  Thank you for having me on board.  I hope to provide more to your readers than just reviews in the near future.  You and "The Babe" have a nice thing going there and I definitely want to add to that magic.  Keep it up!
To Joystick Division and the "Z man", Jeremy.  I just started with you guys but I've always had my eye on JD.  I love the contests, I love the articles, I love the style.  It was something that I wanted to be a part of but I felt that I didn't have the chops to do it, until now.  Though it's still early in my JD career, I want to thank you for the opportunity to be a part of a gaming community.  I look forward to working with you and the staff there and here's to greater things to come!

The new year won't ring in until a few days from now, but let's admit it, friends, many of us are off on vacation now or we simply don't have the time to update our sites.  I just wanted to make sure that I was able to offer a good "thanks" post before I get caught up in the holiday rush and miss out on a post.  Thank you all, friends, for making Metallman's Reverie a part of your lives and special thanks to all of you that transitioned from readers to friends.  May 2012 bring you nothing but joy, success, and good health.  Later!

  2. You are the only person in the blogosphere that I have actually established a friendship with, and for that I am grateful since you're awesome.

I'm glad to have you on board at SITWS, and I hope to see you around more often in the 2012 year. ;)
