Deku AI Art Deep Dive

Deku
The Epic Final Image of Deku

Hey there. If you've been following me on my socials, you probably noticed that I've been posting a lot of AI generated art recently. I've been pretty hooked on it and I have found myself making more and more tweaks to the prompts to generate better images. So just like with the Zero Two AI Art Deep Dive, I won't bore you with the technical details of how I created the art in this post but I will give you the basics of what I did and why I did it. I'll provide you with what I added, removed, emphasized, and de-emphasized in the prompt to change up the image. So without any further delay, let's take a look at the journey and deep dive into the AI generated images that I went through to create this amazing image of Deku.

DekuDeku

I was going for an image of Deku, looking pretty epic, with green electricity type power stuffs in the background. After entering my prompts to set the art style, lighting, background, etc, etc.., these were the first two images I got. The first image Stable Diffusion churned out is... a female? lol I guess the program is keeping track of what I've been creating and assumed I wanted a female deku. Also... are those leaves as hair? lol It's definitely one of the more weird initial images I've gotten but this is what makes creating AI images fun and interesting. You got to make adjustments to get the image you're looking for. So... I added, "1 young man," and, "green hair," to the prompt and got the next image. I got green hair, but no lightning. Also, Deku is still looking a little feminine. So I need to adjust for that. Lastly, Deku's eyes are yellow. Need to make sure they're green. So the prompt was adjusted by adding, "masculine,", "green eyes,", and I emphasized, "yellow and green electricity."

The 3rd image added the electricity effect that I'm looking for, but Deku is still looking kind of feminine. I think it's the eyes. There's like this pointed cat eye eye liner thing that going on so I need to adjust that. Another thing that is off in this image is the head to body proportions. The head seems little compared to the body. No bueno. I emphasized, "masculine," and added, "rugged," to the prompt and got the next image. It's better. The image is starting to look like the Deku that I am going for, but now I lost a little of the masculine look and Deku is still looking a little baby faced. Oh man... the dude has freckles! I forgot that he has freckles! Let's add, "freckles," and emphasized, "masculine," again.

DekuDeku
I like this one... but no electricity or freckles... stupid AI. I'm going to leave everything as is and regenerate an image. Better... but again, no freckles and I got buildings in the background. I'm NOT going for a busy background this time. I want it to be a simple background that is filled what could be described as, "inner power," so I adjusted the prompt again. I emphasized, "freckles," and in the negative prompt, I added, "buildings."

DekuDeku
We're starting to get that epic look. Loving the strength that comes through via the neck but those eyes... that feminine eye outline is back. That outline stretches just a little too far and gives this image a more feminine look. And... no freckles! Maybe it's a fluke. I made no adjustments and regenerated an image. Freckles!!! We got freckles, people! lol But what is going on with the white of the eyes? There is like a bubble there. It's weird. Also, there seems to be a dimple in the ear. Almost as if the AI was going to add an earring and then said forget it. Let's adjust... I added, "bubbles," and, "earrings," to the negative prompt.

DekuDeku
I really like this image. The lighting is pretty good and the that green electricity in the background really pops. It's almost like it's emanating from Deku. I also like the expression. It's this determined look that is really doing it for me. But... he doesn't look strong enough and there's still something floating in the eye area. Let's add, "muscular," and, "determined look," to the prompt. The next image is good too. We're getting closer to where we want to be. But again... he doesn't look strong enough. Also... I think that maybe the angle is what is giving the, "weak," look. Let's add, "from below," to the prompt and see what we get.

DekuDeku
Yeah, we're getting there. The from below angle is looking really, really good. Two things, though. Deku is not exuding, "power," and what is up with that expression? That's not really a look of determination, right? And again... he's not looking strong. I want a Deku that is determined and strong and isn't afraid. Let's add, "power," to the prompt and see if that helps. Whoa... too much power. lol Looks like the prompt amplified power and masculinity and made Deku look more like Muscular than Deku. lol It's an exaggerated muscular look and I am not liking this image too much because of it... BUT... I do like that the electricity is coming out of Deku's hands. This image implies that the electric energy in the background is coming from Deku. Let's scale back the masculinity and add the power. I de-emphasized, "masculine," and added, "electricity coming from hands," and I got...

Deku
Perfect! This is what I was looking for. Deku looks determined, the green/yellow electricity is flowing from his hands, his body looks strong but not exaggerated, and the lighting is spot on! Love it!

Thank you for coming on this Deku AI Art Deep Dive journey with me. It's not as easy as many people think it is to create great AI generated images. As you can see, AI doesn't always listen to the prompts and it takes more than a bit of adjusting to get the image that you'll be happy with.

I hope I was able to shed a little light into the process of creating AI art using Stable Diffusion and hope you all come back for the next AI Art Deep Dive! But before you go, I just wanted to give you heads up that I will posting these images on my social media soon.. so keep an eye out for that. Also, let me know what you think of the process of creating AI images. Easy peasy lemon squeezy or is it rough, tough, citrus stuff. Are you for AI images or against AI images? Let's hear it in the comments, friends. Later!
