The 90s Animated Shows That Persist in Popularity Today

90's Anime
Hey there. There are some shows that simply don’t age and don’t lose their magical appeal. And when it comes to the 90's high-point of anime, there are plenty of examples of that. If you’re looking to delve into a nostalgic re-watch or maybe visit some of the classic anime shows that you’ve never got round to watching before, you’re certainly in the right place. Here are a few of the 90's animated shows that have really persisted.

Mobile Suit Gundam Wing

Mobile Suit Gundam Wing

When it comes to 90's anime, there are few shows more typically 90's, or more fun, than Mobile Suit Gundam Wing. The fashion is on point, there are robots, and let's not forget the epic battles. What’s not to like? If you haven’t yet experienced this classic anime series yourself, you owe it to yourself to dive back in and make the discovery first-hand. One thing you’ll be sure to love about it is the incredible soundtrack and theme music.

Sailor Moon

Sailor Moon

There are few characters in anime more iconic than Sailor Moon, and the show itself is even better. You’ll know the artwork even if you haven’t seen the series, but you owe it to yourself to make sure you have because there’s a lot to love about it. There’s love, war, and just about everything in between in this classic anime.

Cowboy Bebop

Cowboy Bebop

Hey there, Space Cowboy! There’s already been so much said about Cowboy Bebop and the fanbase around it has not died down at all since the 90's; in fact, it’s much bigger and more vocal than ever before thanks to online communities. The show is a cyberpunk dystopian drama with some of the best music you’ll find in any anime show of any era. It’s rightly considered one of the best anime that’s ever been made too.

Dragon Ball Z

Dragonball Z

Dragon Ball Z has been a favorite of many for a long time now, and the popularity of the series has not dampened in the years since its original release. Sure, it technically launched in 1989, but it’s a 90's series to most of us, there’s no doubt about that. The battles are epic and the character development deceptively deep. Today, everything from DBZ figures to Dragon Ball Z lamps remain popular among adults and kids alike. I mean, c'mon... who wouldn't want to have an actual dragon ball in their home?!?!

Pokemon

Pokemon

What is there to say about Pokemon that hasn’t been said so many times around? The adventures of Ash and his gang have always been captivated and the fact that the series is still pumping out great episodes to this day, with the most recent Sword and Shield-based series, is certainly commendable. Pokemon is always going to have a special place in the hearts of 90's kids, but it continues to win over new devotees to this day.

Anyone who’s seen any of the shows discussed above will be able to tell you just how wonderful they are, and the truth is there’s something for just about everyone in the world of classic 90's anime. If you’ve not delved into this world much before, now is certainly the time to change that.

So what are some of you favorite 90's animated show that you still watch? There's no doubt that mine is Cowboy Beboop. I could never get enough of the adventures of Spike, Jet, Edward, and Faye (mmm... Faye). Let's hear it in the comments, friends. Later!
