Thoughts On... The Dark Knight Rises

Hey there.  Have you had a chance to see The Dark Knight Rises yet?  If you haven't, what are you waiting for?  The much anticipated finale of the Batman trilogy by Christopher Nolan did not disappoint.  Movie premier tickets were sold out months before the movie was released and for good reason.  Batman Begins and The Dark Knight gave us some of the best Batman movies in existence.  Batman Begins portrayed Batman as he is in the comics.  Because Nolan was bold and was willing to make movies that changed the standard of what a Batman movie should be, many fans talked and speculated about how Nolan will end his trilogy.  I've seen The Dark Knight Rises.  If you haven't seen it, go watch it and come back and let me know what you thought of the movie.  THERE WILL BE SPOILERS BELOW!!!  Unless you want me to kill the movie for you, step away.  Now here are my thoughts on... The Dark Knight Rises.

Final Fantasy XIII-2 Giveaway

Hey there.  Who's ready for a game giveaway?  I've been a huge fan of the Final Fantasy series since I was first introduced to it by a good friend of mine.  I remember playing Final Fantasy: Mystic Quest on the SNES (I know... not a great installment of the series) and I payed no more attention to it after I finished it, but once my friend handed me Final Fantasy 7, my mind was blown.  I was up all hours of the night trying to find out what happens to Cloud and Sephiroth.  Ever since that day, I've gone out and searched for all the Final Fantasy installments and played them.  I've finished pretty much all of them except for the PSP games.  Anyways, as I was thinking about what game to give away, I decided that a Final Fantasy game was in order and I decided to give you the chance to win the latest in the series:  Final Fantasy XIII-2.

I enjoyed Final Fantasy XIII-2.  I love the battle system.  I love the monster training aspect of it.  It is a relatively short game considering that the series owns some games where you can easily log over 100 hours playing.  I think that at this point, many fans either love it or hate it.  I strongly believe it's because we grew up with some of the best games in the series.  For all of you that are still iffy about it and don't want to pay for it, enter to win the game for the PS3 or Xbox 360!

The giveaway will run from now until August 20th.  Anyone can enter, but the game prize is only available for US entries.  An Amazon Gift Card will be awarded to our International winner in lieu of the game.  Good luck, friends!

This giveaway is brought to you in part by my good friends at Zombie & Toys and Chic Girl.  Make sure to stop by and check them out for awesome zombie stuff and trendy fashion!

Can wait to see if you've won?  You can get Final Fantasy XIII-2 at Amazon!

Central New Jersey as a Vacation Destination

Hey there.  Earlier this month, the wife and I enjoyed a vacation during our anniversary.  When we do get some free time to ourselves, we end up going somewhere local.  Somewhere close to Southern California where we can easily drive to and from.  Where did go this time around?  We went to Las Vegas.  Don't get me wrong, it was fun and we had a great time, but you know what... we've done Vegas before.  We've done San Diego.  We've done Laughlin.  We need to head out to the East Coast.  We need so check out what the  Eastern shore has to offer.  While there are some more glamorous spots out East like New York, I've heard that Central New Jersey may be the place to see.

Super Killer Hornet XBLA Indie Game Review

Are you ready for a fast pace shooter?
Hey there.  Do you remember the days of when space shooters where the games to play?  Awesome games such as Space Invaders, Galaga, and Gradius?  Space Invaders pretty much started the whole spaceship destroying alien type enemies, Galaga made it fun, and Gradius made it challenging.  Of those three, I would say that Gradius is my favorite.  Why?  Because hordes of enemies would attack you with a barrage of bullets.  You needed to be quick on your reflexes or be extremely powered up to stand a chance.  It's one of those games that you can feel proud of beating it.  Super Killer Hornet brings a part of that nostalgia back.

Our good friends at Flump Studios provided a copy of their first ever game released in the Xbox Marketplace for me to try out and review.  After only an hour or so of playing the game, I feel better than prepared to give you guys an honest review of this game.  So let's get to it.  Here's all that you need to know about Super Killer Hornet for the Xbox 360 and Windows 7 phone.
