Happy Valentine's Day, My Love

Hey there.  In years past, I've written a small something for my wife on my blog.  This time around, I decided to try something different.  I've been wanting to do video posts and this may be the one to jump start that idea.  Babe... this is for you.  =o*

Give Your Sweetie the Gift of Focus this Valentine's Day with Brain Age: Concentration Training

Hey there!  Valentine's Day is tomorrow!!!  What do you have planned for your Valentine?  A sweet dinner for two?  A bouquet of roses?  A box of chocolates?  That's all well and good... if you want your Valentine's Day to be just like everybody else's day!  Why not change it up?  Why not be spontaneous?  Why not give the gift of focus?!  A gift of gaming?  Well, lucky for you that I have solved that dilemma for you!  BAM!  A pink Nintendo 3DS with Brain Age: Concentration Training!  Let's be honest here, candy, flowers, and dinner are standard gifts now for pretty much any occasion.  Your Valentine COULD be thinking that their gift will be similar to millions.  It’s the romantics who look to breathe new life into their relationships through spontaneity and surprise and what better way to say “I love you” than with something they’ll use every day and by giving them the gift of focus?  You just can't go wrong with that!

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Kmart for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.
BLG_Logo_Horizontal.jpg (3 documents, 3 total pages)
Hey there.  Can you believe that we're in the middle of September already?  I've already seen halloween decorations up and at some local retailers, I've seen Thanksgiving decorations for sale.  You know what that means!!!  Holiday is shopping is right around the corner!  Oh man!  If you are anything like me, you're going to want to pick up awesome holiday gifts for your friends and family, but having to pay money upfront can cause a huge dent in my wallet.  It's one of the main reasons I take advantage of the layaway programs that are available at my local retailers.  You can set aside the gifts, a pay a little each week/month, get your gifts when you're done!  It's great!  But you know what would make it perfect???  Free.  Consumers LOVE free.  That's why I like to go to Kmart for their free layaway program.  While others may charge a small fee to hold your items, Kmart does not.  But they've made their layaway program even better.  Have you heard about the Kmart's Big Layaway Giveaway???  No?!  Well... let me tell you!

The Importance of Taking a Mental Health Day

A strong indication that you need a Mental Health Day!
Hey there.  You know... I work to hard.  I don't take many vacations.  Not because I don't want to, but because I always seem needed at work.  I've been working at the same place for well over 8 years now...  it will be 9 years this May.  And even though I am proud that I have managed to discover a career, it's tough to know that the time off is rare.  And if I do get time off, it's in small spurts.  I could never request weeks, let alone, a full month off at work.  It's just not possible.  With my, I'm lucky to get 3 days straight.  That was what was supposed to happen this week, but it didn't.  Instead, I'm settling for today, Friday, off and next Wednesday and Thursday.  Mondays and Tuesdays and are out of the question because of the meetings that I am a part of.  I think that I need to simply accept that this is what it is and cherish the moments that I can take off from work.

Top Movies to Catch This Easter Period

Hey there.  Are you parent that can't seem to pry your kids away from video games?  Never fear!  Although I condone a healthy dose of daily video games, I also condone a healthy dose of family time and what better way to do that than with family movie night!  Check out some of the awesome movies that will keep your family entertain during this Easter period.

A Thousand Words
Starring Eddie Murphy, A Thousand Words tells the story of Jack McCall, a literary agent famed for his ability to close any deal. In the movie, Jack targets Dr. Sinja, yet Dr. Sinja is wise to his ways and plants a magical Bodhi tree in his backyard. Whenever Jack speaks, a leaf drops from the tree and he soon realizes that upon the fall of the last leaf, bad things will happen to him. This leads to Jack conjuring up outrageous ways in which to communicate with others. Will be released on April the 6th.  This film is most suitable for high school kids.

Welcome 2012

Here's to a great 2012
Hey there. Happy new year, friends! I hope every one had a great time last night and everyone was able ring in the new year safely. Today is going to be an eventful day. I have a winner to announce and a new giveaway should be going live real soon. I am also testing out the blogging ability Amazon's Kindle Fire. It's not great, but it'll do. I have been able to do most of the functions that I can do with a computer so I can't complain. I do needless to type using two fingers but I think I found a good rhythm and able to type with respectable speed.

Not bad friends, not bad at all. Later!

My Christmas Story - Banjo Kazooie, N64, and a Snitch

With Christmas being literally around corner, we all have our christmas stories. Whether it'd be getting that special gift, giving that special gift or just remembering the times you've had with your family and friends. I got my own Christmas stories to tell, maybe too many, to be honest. There's one I remember the most, its the one that makes me laugh and it reminds me of how much the memories of family means to me.

Top 5 Christmas Songs

1. All I Want for Christmas - Mariah Carey
Mariah has one the best and most recognizable Christmas songs in the last 20 years.

2. Last Christmas- Wham!
George Michael and Andrew Ridgeley make a classsic song that is remade by literally everyone.

3. Baby, Its Cold Outside-EVERYONE
This classic tune is fun, has been sang by pretty much anyone with a little eggnog and a passion for parody.

4. Let It Snow Although I live in Los Angeles, I cant help but to know the lyrics to this song considering its played at every department store while I'm shopping for mom's Xmas gift.

5. Feliz Navidad
Who did not sing this song during their Christmas holiday play???

I'm sure we've all heard these songs while we're driving to our destinations at some point in the past four weeks. You will fail trying to avoid these songs within the week that brings upon us Christmas day. So, enjoy them, listen, sing a long, buy a Christmas album and and sing a long with your friends and family while sippin on some eggnog, for this is the one time of the year that it is ok to this and its accepted. No one is going around singing the "Monster Mash" right? right?

Making Hickory Farms a Family Tradition

Hey there.  No matter what goes down in your daily life, at the end of the day, you come home to your family.  Always inviting, always waiting there for.  It's the best time of day, actually.  Well, at least for me it is.  After working hard all day, it's great to be able to spend some time with the wife and kids and dinner time is a great way to open up with each other and share the day's experiences.  It's a welcome change from the stresses of being a working parent.  And nothing makes the conversation better than an awesome meal from the wife.  But not just any meal, but a meal prepared using some Hickory Farms products.

The 2011 NBA Lockout is Over

Hey there.  I love basketball and the fact that there's no NBA on my TV in November just seems wrong.  The 2011 NBA lockout just seemed to be a ridiculous at times.  The NBA was coming off one of the most exciting Finals in recent memory and the NBA seemed poised to build on that momentum.  Instead, the NBA allowed to league to lose steam, allowed the players to seek employment elsewhere, and allowed the fans to be irritated beyond belief that a collective bargaining agreement could not be made.  However, today, the NBA and it's players have tentatively agreed on a new deal to get basketball back on TV starting on Christmas Day!

Already Planning my Turkey Leftovers Dishes

Guest post written by Aliza Simpson

I like to think ahead, especially when it comes to what I'm going to eat. It's something that's really important to me. I mean, you need to eat, but you also should enjoy something that you have to do anyway. So when it comes to big occasions, I like to put a whole lot of thought into what I'm going to cook and also eat.

I'm hosting a friends get together for Thanksgiving and I've already thought of all the leftovers and the meals that I'm going to eat from them. I was online looking up some ideas for that a few days ago when I ran across the site clearwirelessinternetservice.com and after I looked through it a little bit I decided to change over my apartment's internet service to one of the packages on there.

I'm probably going to have a whole bunch of turkey leftovers after my friends come over and everything, and I'm going to make all kinds of yummy turkey wraps and paninis with the leftover stuff. Just hopefully my friends wonÕt want to take too many leftovers home!
