The Hero Rush: A 5K Firefighter Themed Obstacle Course

Hey there.  Not too long ago, I did my first ever 5K, The Color Run.  It was easy, it was fun, and I had a blast.  I'll admit though, it seemed more like a party than a workout.  Nevertheless, the family and I had a great time and I am glad that I got to experience something like that.  Now, I'm ready to step it up a notch.  As most of you know, I'm signed up for the Super Spartan Race, but that's not until January of next year.  I need practice and workouts to get ready.  I started running in the mornings and getting myself into shape.  Good thing too, because guess who is participating in another 5K real soon?!?!  Yup!  Me!!!  I'll be in Pomona June 30th participating in the Hero Run!

So what's the Hero Run?  It's a firefighter themed obstacle race, that's what.  From what I have read, it's their inaugural year so I'm extremely grateful that I was approached by their PR team and asked to participate! Browsing through their website, I learned that their first ever race was held in Maryland no less than a month ago!  But man, does it look like fun.  They have plenty of pictures and participants' videos so that you can get that first hand experience of what it's like to be a hero.  Check out the official trailer below.

I'll get to call my inner hero and go through 15+ obstacles Not only that, but they also gave me a special promo code to share with all of you, my readers!  If you are interested in participating in the Hero Race, make sure to use the promo code "Metallman" and get 15% off registration!  I'm extremely excited about that part.  To be able to hook my people up with a discount!  lol  Check out this awesome, personalized poster!  Not only is the discount printed right on there but it will also give you the dates and locations for the schedules races this year.

So who's in?  If you are in the Southern California area and can make it Pomona for the run on June 30th, why not join my team?  You can join the "Dragon Riders" by clicking on this link.  The Color Run was all fun and games and The Hero Run looks more up my alley.  Any special training or tips that I should do to prepare?  I only have a little over a month away to get ready! So who's ready to be a hero?  See you guys there!  Later!
