Metallman's Reverie: Blog Income and Traffic Report November 2011

Hey there.  November is in the the books and it's time to report on how well on (or off) pace we are in reaching my $2500 goal for the year. Let's take a look at the numbers:

SocialSpark - $52.00
Dad Central - $30.00
Blogsvertise - $15.00
Mylikes - $1.06
Total for November - $98.06
YTD Total - $2,415.45 (+$123.78 ahead of pace)

Oh so close to reaching the goal!!!  I'm only $85 short of making $2,500!!!  This is not one of my best months.  As a matter of fact... it's my worst month of the year, but nevertheless, a positive one.  Oh man...  Let's take a look at the breakdown.

SocialSpark continues to be good to me.  I have a few opportunities that I am waiting payment on so I should see another positive month for them in December.

Dad Central/Mom Central has clearly paved the way for some good earnings (and family fun).  I've done a few reviews/experiences with them and they continue to get better and better.  The UNO Roboto review was definitely one of the more entertaining ones!  I hope that I continue to be an integral part of their review team.

Blogsvertise continues to be slow.  I declined a few more offers from them last month and I'm just not feeling them anymore.  I think it's the fact that the site seems a little outdated, but the staff is working on it.  There seems to be talks of Facebook and Twitter integration but I haven't seen anything come of that.  I guess I'll stick around for a bit more and see where it takes me.

Mylikes earnings have also diminished.  I see that they are doing a few tweeks and structural changes to the layout and earnings module, I still find myself sending out a few tweets a month.  Again, I go back to being a more personalized online entity as opposed to a sponsored heavy entity and Mylikes earnings are suffering because of it.  No big deal though.

TRAFFIC REPORT
Now that I'm sharing my traffic report as well, I figure that I should add whether or not I've done better or worse than the previous month.  That's where the numbers in green and red come in to play.  My visits and pageviews are up.  I'm still hoping to have a steady flow of 10,000 visitors one day.  It looks like I'm inching my way to that goal.  I'm very unhappy with my bounce rate though.  It's now in the 90% and that sucks.  Not much more I can do but write better posts to get visitors to stick around.  We'll see how next month turns out.

So there you have it, friends.  How did you guys do during the month of November?  Later!

  1. Thanks Justin! I am pretty excited about it. I barely broke $1K the last 2 years so this year set a new high for me! Nowhere near DB status, but's a good start.

  2. You kidding me, I am super psyched about DB and how much it is doing.  My 3rd year really took off and outperformed the previous 2 combined.  I will break 10k in earnings for 2011 for DB.com and hoping to hit 15k in earnings for 2012.

  4. Congrats on the earnings, you will break $2500 this year.  I was so happy when I broke $2500 for the first time for the year.

  5. Yeah, considering that we both do this as a hobby it is great.  I have seen other blogs earn a lot more due to being more affiliate marketing focus so I am not an exact role model for bloggers wanting to make a full time income blogging, but show that income is possible :)
