Metallman's Reverie: Blog Income July 2011

Hey there.  July is in the the books and it's time to report on how well on (or off) pace we are in reaching my $1700 goal for the year. Let's take a look at the numbers:

Squishy Cash - $19.37
DragonBlogger - $23.67
Dad Central - $75.00
Blogsvertise - $64.00
Reach Network - $18.51
Total for July - $200.55
YTD Total - $1471.91 (+$480.24 ahead of pace)

July was not a great a month as other this year.  If not for first time payments from Squishy Cash and the Reach Network, I would only have had 3 branches of income.  Let's get into the numbers.

Squishy Cash has been a program that I have been a part of for some time but I am not active on.  It's a place where you do surveys and what not for a few cents each and once you've hit the $20 threshold, you'll get paid.  Well, I managed to get a pretty long referral line with this affiliate so I don't have to do anything and the 25% referral bonus slowly builds my income with this site.  Considering that it took almost 7 months to earn $20, it may not be worth the hassle, but to be honest, I log on once a week and that's it so I can't complain.

I received a few offers from DragonBlogger.com and managed to increase my  earning potential there.  I must admit that the other writers there have most topics covered (and covered well) so I'm usually regulated to special assignments, which I don't mind.

Dad Central has been nothing but awesome to me.  I'm glad that I have been a part of this great group of bloggers and that I've been fortunate enough to be considered for some of the opportunities that they provide.  I have a few more projects lined up from them that I'll be posting about shortly and quite frankly, I'm excited to try them out.

Blogsvertise has continued to churn out tasks for me to do but I continue to let them expire or I'll outright decline them.  I don't want to clutter my blog with paid posts and considering that I've received quite a few from many different outlooks, I've tried to integrate them as normal posts.  It's difficult to do that when the task has a specific topic that seems out of place here so I've tried to minimize those posts.

Reach Network is a new one for me.  I've taken part in a few "Twitter parties" that will pay me to converse within a specified topic.  It's a great way to meet other like yourself and a great way to partake in an engaging conversation.  I've missed the last few weeks due to personal reasons but I'm hoping to get back on track with this and take part in those conversations again.

So there you have it.  Not a bad month but I am a little disappointed knowing that it could have been more.  Especially since I'm paying for the monthly giveaways out of pocket.  Nevertheless, I'm blessed to have been given the opportunity to earn extra income online, blessed to be able to express myself through a blog, and blessed that friends like you continue to read.  Thank you all for hanging out and a special thanks to all of you that I now call friends because of this humble blog.  Later!
