Metallman's Reverie: Blog Income for June 2011

Hey there.  June is in the the books and it's time to report on how well on (or off) pace we are in reaching my $1700 goal for the year. Let's take a look at the numbers:

Mylikes - $1.44
CMFAds - $1.88
Sponsored Tweets - $30.01
DragonBlogger - $19.12
Dad Central - $100.00
Blogsvertise - $89.00
SocialSpark - $66.50
PayPerPost - $31.00
Total for June - $338.95
YTD Total - $1271.36 (+$421.36 ahead of pace)

Whoa!  May was the top month for me but June was even better!  I am well ahead of pace to break $1700 and I'm thinking that $2000 is more than likely.  I'll keep the numbers based off of $1700 since that was the number I was shooting for at the beginning of the year.  We'll see how close we come or far we exceed it at the end of December!  So let's break down the numbers for June.

I had a bad month at Mylikes.  I didn't log in as much and I didn't take as many opportunities in June causing my earnings to suffer.  Nevertheless, Mylikes has done well for me in the past and I fully expect to have it make a come back next month.

CMFAds I like.  It's not a big money earner but the community is tightly knit and it's great to stop by on a daily basis to check out the blogs that are spiked.  Before you even realized what happened, you've made some change.  Not a life changer but nevertheless nice to have around.

Sponsored Tweets have done well since I've moved over to a Pro account.  I was a little skeptical at first since I didn't see an increase of opportunities during that first week, but since then, I have gotten a steady stream of opportunities.  If you are not a member, check it out and consider paying the $2 for the Pro account.

I was more active at Dragonblogger this past month and had a string of posts that were fairly popular.  E3 was big for the Dragonblogger team and since revenues are shared across all writers and paid the following month, I expect DB.com to be on this list again next month and the following months.

Dad Central has been awesome!  I've loving the opportunities that have been presented and I love being part of this team!  Their opportunities are engaging and they are a joy to write.  And while I'm accustomed to being paid via PayPal, Dad Central pays via Gift Cards and that's not necessarily a bad thing.  I've used the Amazon gift cards to purchase my wife's phone and I have a Walmart gift card at home waiting to be used.

Blogsvertise continues to be my top earner this year and I added another $89 to that total.  I haven't had as many opportunities as I've had before and I find myself declining more and more.  I really hope that me declining opportunities will not hinder this relationship.

Getting paid once every 3 months from SocialSpark is due to a lack of opportunities.  This year, it seems like things have slowed for SocialSpark and I haven't been getting the amount of opportunities that I have had before.  And now with the new tier system that is in place, I doubt that I'll be getting more work from them in the coming months.  I don't think I have the viewership to be considered a "Staff pick blog" yet and that might hurt my earnings in the short term.

PayPerPost (PPP), on the other hand, has seen some increased activity.  I've gotten a post to do for several weeks straight and PPP is finally showing some life.  June is the only month where I have gotten paid from PPP but based on the steady work, I expect to cash out again and have PPP make an appearance on July's earning report.

So there you have it.  My breakdown of June's earnings.  Some new revenue opportunities presented themselves and I've been fortunate enough to have been considered for them.  I've also been getting more items for review and I've even gotten some things sent to me just because.  I'd like to think that it's because I'm awesome... but I know that it's more than likely just so that I can blog about them (ie. free t shirt).  lol  I'm finally making a name for myself (no matter how small) and it's paying off in earnings and in friends.  Feel free to check out the links I provided above and test out these great money generating programs and don't forget to tell them that Metallman sent ya!  Good luck!  Later!
