The End of an Era

Hey there. Earlier today, Farrah Fawcett passed away. Many articles across the web deemed it the end of an era with such an iconic woman passing away. Word on the street is that now, Michael Jackson has just passed from cardiac arrest (heart attack). If the reports on Michael are true, then today, June 25th 2009, is the day an era came to an end.

Update: 3.26 PM MSN.com has confirmed Michael's death. RIP Farrah & Michael.

  2. Sorry to be picky, but, well, I've got nothing better to do.

A cardiac arrest is not the same as a heart attack. A cardiac arrest is where the heart just stops beating, whereas a heart attack (or a myocardial infarction if you want to get technical...and I do) is a blockage of blood in one of the three branches of the aorta that supply blood to the muscle wall of the heart (the myocardium).

    Uh, yeah, anyway...sad, yeah...ahem.

  3. Hey there Random,

You are correct. Cariac arrest is the technical way of saying your heart stopped. I posted while there was a lot of speculation going around so I didn't have the full details and pretty much associated it with heart attack. Nevertheless, we'll find out what caused it once the toxicology reports come in. Now there's speculation that drugs may have caused it.

  4. The saddest thing is that both of them had to fight a media that loved to constantly pick the negatives out of their lives.
